Green Smoothie Recipe

This recipe for a healthy green smoothie is specifically designed for children, incorporating nutrient-dense ingredients and a delicious taste that kids will love. It’s packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, ensuring a balanced and nutritious drink for your little ones.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baby spinach or kale (packed)
  • 1 small banana (ripe, peeled, and frozen)
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, or any other preferred berries)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla for added sweetness)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or any other preferred milk (cow’s milk, oat milk, or coconut milk)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on desired sweetness)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional, for added thickness)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the baby spinach or kale thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Drain well or use a salad spinner to dry the leaves.
  2. In a high-powered blender, add the baby spinach or kale, frozen banana, and mixed berries.
  3. Next, add the Greek yogurt and your choice of milk to the blender.
  4. If desired, add honey or maple syrup to sweeten the smoothie to your child’s taste. Keep in mind that the banana and berries already provide natural sweetness, so you may want to taste the smoothie before adding additional sweeteners.
  5. Add ice cubes if you prefer a thicker smoothie.
  6. Blend all ingredients together until smooth and creamy, with no visible chunks of spinach or kale remaining. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach the desired consistency.
  7. Pour the smoothie into cups or glasses and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Tip: Feel free to customize this recipe by adding different fruits, such as mango, pineapple, or kiwi.
