FAQ

How are you different from other practices?

We are a small community Practice that believes in treating the whole child and truly providing personalized care to each patient and family. We are very accessible by email and phone 24/7 and believe in getting to know our patients well and getting to the root cause of illness. In addition some of our Pediatricians have further training in holistic and integrative pediatrics and include these tips during routine visits with the hopes to provide the best whole child care possible.

What are your hours and which doctors are in which days?

We have 3 Pediatricians at our practice and we rotate days as well as who is on call.

Dr. Nasta is in 3 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), Dr. Yarlagadda is in 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Fridays), and Dr. Wang is in 1 day a week and often covers any vacations for the other doctors.

What happens when our child is sick and it is after hours or on the weekend?

We have an answering service that will connect you to the doctor on call which is one of the 3 of us 24/7. We will get on the phone and give you advice and if further care is needed we will either come in to see your child or direct you to the right place for their care.

Where should I go if we have an emergency after hours?

What are your hospital affiliations and whom do you refer to for specialty care and why?

As a practice we are affiliated with UCSF. We also see many babies born at Sequoia Hospital, Mills Peninsula Hospital, and El Camino Hospital. We often refer both to Stanford Children’s Hospital or UCSF depending on the need of the patient. We have many contacts at both and therefore will refer according to what is best for your child.

What is your Vaccine Philosophy?

All three of our Pediatricians believe in vaccinations for the health of your child and the health of the community at large. We understand that there can be a lot of questions and anxiety around vaccines in general amongst our patients. We are here to answer all of your questions and have an educated discussion regarding these concerns. We do offer alternative slower vaccine schedules for those who prefer this as long as they are committed to coming back for repeat frequent visits to get their child’s vaccinations. As a small practice we dictate the brands of vaccines we purchase weekly and are committed to purchasing the brands with the least amount of preservatives and that are the best for your child.

What is your well child and sick visit policy?

We ask that you schedule your well checks at all the appropriate times based on the schedule we provide at the first newborn visit. We will always fit in a baby or child who is sick on the same day they call. We also do our best to come in on the weekends if we can for sick visits and if we cannot we are reachable thru our answering service and will make sure you get the appropriate medical care even when the Office is closed. We are a very small Practice that provides a personalized approach and are available by email and phone 24/7.
